What Is Naturopathy?

Naturopathy is a form of natural #wellness to help the body alleviate illness and help maintain optimal wellness. #Naturopathy looks at the body as a whole. It treats the whole person. There are no diagnosis for separate aches, pains, upset stomach's or any kind of illness. When something isn't feeling good, it's just part of the whole body and the body needs to find the path or direction of what is creating the issue at hand. Each organ and all symptoms are reviewed and looked at to find the direction of what might be happening and what to consider for the type of natural treatment needed.

Naturopathy gives focus to the physical, emotional and spiritual well being of an individual. When one or more of these are out of alignment or the individual lacks focus in these areas, this is when illness can and will step in. It's extremely important to have a balance in each of these three areas.

Let's look into what each of the three elements above is all about and what you may need to do to achieve better health and wellness.

Physical

The physical represents your actual physical body. How do you take care of it? It's important to eat a diet which is full of raw uncooked organic fruits and vegetables (live foods) on a daily basis and at each meal. Are you keeping processed and cooked foods out of your diet? These foods are known as dead foods and have very little to no nutritional value at all. Are you exercising at least 30 minutes, five times per week? Are you getting 7-8 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night? Are you drinking at least 1/2 of your body weight in ounces, daily?

Emotional

The emotional element represents what emotions an individual may be harboring or hanging onto. Sometimes emotions are very deep seeded and at times can be held onto for decades without the individual even knowing that they have done this. It's kind of like the term, "Sweeping it under the rug." An example might be someone whom you've gotten angry with for whatever reason and you haven't resolved the issue yet. You might not have forgiven yourself or the person whom you got mad at, or it might be something you just refuse to have closure with. Any old or new negative emotion when kept inside of us without it being resolved, eventually will manifest into disease. It can't stay bottled up inside of the body, it has to find a way out and one of the ways it shows itself is through illness and pain. It is so important to put old angers, bitterness, grief and jealousy away. Get rid of them, they will only hurt you more as time goes on.

Spiritual

To find total wellness it's important to have a great relationship with our creator. When we can have total trust and belief in God, this is when the body will find it's way back to wholeness and when the body repairs itself. Each day find a moment to meditate, pray and talk to God about what your next steps are or whatever questions you might have. Trust that He will show you how to get on the road you need to be on, but know that His answers might be different than what you've been looking for. A spiritual relationship with God is so vitally important to ongoing excellent health and wellness.

Naturopathic Medicine

When you speak to a Naturopath, they'll ask you questions relating to your health issues, diet, lifestyle, stress levels, and what you may currently be experiencing. The difference between a Naturopath and a traditional medical doctor is that the medical doctor will usually prescribe prescription drugs to suppress the symptoms or mask them, which can also lead to secondary illness and side effects. The Naturopath will minimize the harmful side effects focusing on a natural direction which can include nutritional supplements, herbs, botanical medicine, essential oils, exercise, Reiki, reflexology, homeopathy, iridology, massage, Chinese medicine, and many other natural and #holistic forms of treatment to help with self healing and prevention. A Naturopath will also educate the individual and teach them what they need to do and will help to identify and treat the problem.

Try making sure you're well balanced for all of the elements above. They are all extremely important for a life that feels great each and every single day. A wellness journey can take weeks, months and sometimes years to get to a place of optimal wellness, so give your body the best chance you can give it to get there, using a natural path and most importantly have patience. Don't start something and then quit when you haven't seen the results you're wanting quickly. Natural medicine has been around for thousands of years. It's not new, it's what God gave us so that we can feel great every day.
