Menopause Doesn’t Have to Be Miserable. Here’s Why I Don’t Have Symptoms (and You Don’t Have to Either)
For many women, menopause is a dreaded chapter filled with hot flashes, night sweats, brain fog, weight gain, mood swings, and endless frustration. But here’s something you may not hear very often, menopause does not have to come with symptoms. It can be a smooth, empowered transition. When you support your body the way it was designed to be supported.
Let’s break this down together, because this is not just about hormones. This is about how we care for ourselves every single day.
What Is Menopause, Really?
Menopause marks the end of a woman’s reproductive years, when the ovaries stop producing estrogen and progesterone. It’s officially diagnosed after 12 consecutive months without a menstrual cycle. The phase leading up to it is called, "perimenopause," and can begin in your 40s, 50s (or even late 30s), and this is when many women begin noticing symptoms.
But let me say this loud and clear: menopause is not a disease. It’s a natural transition. And just like puberty, pregnancy, and postpartum, how we feel during menopause depends largely on how we support our bodies.
Why I Don’t Have Menopause Symptoms
I’m currently going through this phase myself, and I have virtually no symptoms. No hot flashes, no joint stiffness, no brain fog, no crazy mood swings. Why? Because I’ve taken personal responsibility for my health, and you can too.
The truth is, what you eat, how you sleep, how you move, and how you care for your mind and body directly impacts your hormonal balance. Many women unknowingly make their symptoms worse by following a Standard American Diet full of:

These foods create inflammation, wreak havoc on your hormones, and burden your liver, which plays a huge role in hormone detoxification.
Carrying Extra Weight Makes Symptoms Worse
If you’re 10 pounds or more overweight, that excess body fat can actually contribute to more intense menopause symptoms. Fat tissue produces estrogen, but not in a balanced way, which can confuse your body’s hormonal signals and worsen hot flashes, mood swings, and fatigue. It also increases inflammation, making joint pain and stiffness more likely. Losing even a modest amount of weight through clean eating and movement can make a big difference in how you feel during this transition.
The Power of a Healthy Lifestyle
If you want a smooth menopause (and vibrant health in general), start with these five pillars:
1. Nourishing Whole Foods
Eat a nutrient-dense diet filled with real, whole foods: organic vegetables, high-quality protein, healthy fats like avocado and olive oil, and plenty of fiber. Cut out the processed junk. Avoid seed oils. Fuel your body like you love it, because you should.
2. Daily Movement
You don’t need to do extreme workouts. Walking, strength training, yoga, or even stretching daily can help regulate hormones, support your lymphatic system, and reduce stiffness and aches.
3. Restful Sleep
Your body repairs and balances hormones while you sleep. Aim for 7–9 hours of deep, quality sleep every night. Create a peaceful nighttime routine. Your hormones will thank you.
4. Stress Management
High stress = high cortisol = more hormonal chaos. Practice daily stress relief like breathwork, journaling, time in nature, or even 10 minutes of silence.
5. Hydration + Minerals
Drink clean, filtered water. Add trace minerals to support your body’s electrical system and improve energy, mood, and sleep.
Hot Flashes? Here’s What to Do
If you’re currently experiencing hot flashes, here are a few things you can try:

Cut caffeine and alcohol (they trigger heat and stress the liver)

Interestingly, women in many third-world or traditional cultures don’t experience the “typical” menopause symptoms we see in Western societies. Why? Because they eat real food. They move daily. They live in alignment with the natural rhythms of life. They don’t drown in processed junk, stress, or sedentary living.
Their bodies are supported, and as a result, menopause passes with ease.
